Getting started

Four steps, about three minutes, most of it waiting for the networks to finish their own sign-in screens.

  1. 01

    Install and open

Run the installer and open Xairo. The first screen is a short tour; you can skip it. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to: the app sets up its own account the first time it opens, and your seven-day trial starts there.

  2. 02

    Connect a network

Settings then Accounts lists every network. Press Connect and your browser opens the network’s own sign-in. Approve there and the tokens land in your operating system keychain. Xairo’s servers never receive a copy.

  3. 03

    Write once, tune per network

The composer starts with a universal post. Open the fine-tune panel for any network to give it a title, a subreddit, a privacy level or a different caption. Readiness checks flag anything that network will refuse before you publish.

  4. 04

    Publish or schedule

Publish sends to every selected network with a row per network so you can see exactly which succeeded. Schedule puts it on the calendar and the app publishes it when due, as long as the machine is awake.

Things worth knowing early

Instagram and Threads need a public media URL. Both networks fetch media rather than accepting an upload, so the composer asks for a link to the file. Any public host works.

Instagram and Facebook need a professional account. A personal Instagram profile cannot publish through any API, ours included. Switching to Creator or Business in the Instagram app takes a minute and is reversible.

Scheduling needs the machine awake. Xairo publishes from your computer, which is what keeps your tokens off our servers. A post scheduled for 3am goes out at 3am only if the machine is on.

Reconnecting costs nothing. Networks expire tokens on their own timetables. Xairo warns you a week ahead and reconnecting never uses up a network slot.

You never need a developer account. Xairo holds one reviewed application per network, so connecting is always one press and one approval in your browser.

A second computer joins with a code. Each install starts with its own account. To put a new computer on the one you pay for, open Settings, Account on it and press Link to an existing account; it shows a code. On the computer you already use, press Manage billing to open your account page, choose Add another computer, and enter the code.
